Pebble Beach 

The first famous golf course in California is of course the Pebble Beach course. This course is probably the most famous course in the United States because of how many PGA events have been played here and especially how much it costs to play one round of golf. It definitely has one of the most beautiful courses on any golf course ever because of the Pacific Ocean being right next to the course. When speaking about playing here, I would recommend going full in meaning to stay at the hotel and just enjoy the full experience while being on this course. 

 

Cypress Point 

This beautiful course is just like the one up above, it sits on the stunning coast of the Pacific Ocean and there just simply is nothing like it. This course is consistently ranked as one of the top three created by all the major publications. With the mix of the rocky coast, cypress trees, and sand dunes there is just nothing like this course. It definitely stands out from all the other ones because of how stunning each hole is and it gives each golfer a challenge.The course is also known as the most exclusive course in the world because you have to be invited by a member to even golf a round here. 

 

The Olympic Club 

The Olympic Club offers three different golf courses for you to play on which offers different views at each of them. You can play on either the Ocean, Lake, or the Cliffs course. The Cliffs course is the oldest because it originally was a one course golfing club. However, the club started to slowly lose money and then they decided to purchase more land to make two more courses. Over the years they realized this was the best possible decision because they are now a booming golf club. Many talented golfers have come here to golf before and lots of young golfers first learn to golf here at this course as well. 

 

The Riviera Country Club

George C. Thomas was the architect of The Riviera Country Club course and he did a really fine job. At the time George agreed to complete the course free of charge and to this day it is known as one of the finest layouts in the game of golf. Mr. Thomas put a lot of time and effort tinto this could and it really paid off many years later. Arnold Palmer one said “I consider it one of the great tests of golf.” Especially if this pro is saying this about this course you know it has to be very challenging for everyone.

 

Spyglass Hill 

Spyglass Hill Golf Course has a very interesting story to it. The course was actually created based around the book “Treasure Island”. There are a few holes named after the pirates who were characters in the book. It is one of the courses in the world that has the relation between the course and a very famous book. Many people who loved the Treasure Island novel should consider coming to golf here just because of the relation between the few. You will also found the breathtaking views of the amazing ocean out in front of you at all times while golfing through your round. 

 

Pasatiempo

Alister Mackenzie created the Pasatiempo course and also created Augusta National and Cypress Point. This busy man created some of the best and most popular golf courses in the United States. Although Augusta and Cypress Point are probably more popular, the Pasatiempo course is by far his favorite one that he has ever created. He loved the course so much that he  actually built his home on the coure and it lies near the fairway on hole six. It is also known as one of the finest championship courses in the world which is saying a lot because there are many amazing golf courses in the world.

 

The Preserve Carmel Valley

This course takes place in the most natural part of California. If you are not a resident of the area it may be really tough to get a membership because they want to limit the amount of people so it does not overfill. The course includes a lavish locker room, sauna, and a spa for after the round if you want to relax and recap about the previous round of playing. The Saint Lucia Mountains fall in the backdrop of the first hole and definitely calls for a picture when looking at it. This truly is the course for you if you enjoy more of the mountain view instead of the ocean view. 

 

Saticoy 

The Saticoy course is 60 miles north of Los Angeles and in more of a settled-down setting than Los Angeles. In more recent years, they have taken notes of improvements that need to be done. They wanted the improvements to set in as quick as possible and wanted to hire the best in the business for this job. The course hired Thad Layton of the Arnold Palmer design team. They were very blessed to keep the same layout as the original course but also implement new modern things that would also challenge the players for the new course as well. 

 

La Purisima Golf Course

La Purisima Golf Course is so loved by golfers because everyone of all golf levels come here and love the game and the course it offers. No matter if you just started or you have been playing for a lot of years it will offer a challenge. It has also received two four and a half star reviews from Golf Digest which is a huge deal. This course leaves golfers only wanting more every hole they play. It is also widely known because people think of it as a hidden gem. The course is tucked away where no one would expect a golf course to be, but that’s what makes it so special. 

 

Poppy Hills Golf Course

The Poppy Hills Golf Course is also known as the hidden jewel of Pebble Beach because of how stunning of a course it is. The difference between Poppy Hills and Pebble Beach is the fact that Poppy Hills is more of a forest course and Pebble Beach is on the beach. When you play on this course, you can expect to be championship ready because of how much it prepares you. Everyone that plays on this course absolutely loves it.
